EΥ continues to invest in the prospect and enthusiasm of young people, with the aim to empower the new generation, especially through the difficult environment that was created as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through its Summer Internship Programmes, it offers once again the opportunity to 3 groups of about 100 university students from Cyprus, the United Kingdom and the USA to join the EY family and experience a variety of activities and trainings across all departments of the Firm.
The purpose of this initiative is to enable students to engage with professionals in the field and to experience working in an international work environment. During the three weeks of their internship, students have the unique opportunity to interact with EY professionals, but also with other students from different Universities, and therefore enhance their professional, social and networking skills.
At the same time, students are introduced to new technologies and innovative solutions, and undertake projects that they can carry out either individually or in small groups, thus developing a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. At the same time, through a mutual benefit affiliation and with a strong belief in young people’s capabilities, EY is investing in the professionals of tomorrow and creates the foundation for a possible collaboration in the future.
David Barker, Country Managing Partner of EY Cyprus and CESA Corporate Finance Leader for Strategy and Transaction Services, says: “Young people and new talents have always been at the heart of EΥ's activities and that is why we are investing more and more in improving the learning and development services we offer. Despite the crisis, and in fact because of it, we believe even more strongly that providing the best training to young talents will ultimately make them better future professionals, and that is in direct alignment with our purpose of Building a better working world.”
