The decision was taken after serious consideration of the Attorney General’s opinion on the Environmental Impact Assessment of certain projects and especially the evaluation of those under partial or total implementation.

Relevant decisions by the European Court of Justice were also taken into consideration, along with European Commission directives on environmental impact assessments.

The ambitious project concerns a single residential development with a variety of supportive uses and the provision of food and wellness services, as well as recreation areas.

Part of the development falls within the Nearby Protection Zone of the Kouris water reservoir and the project was temporarily blocked due to environmental concerns that needed clarification.

The resort, whose estimated cost is €30 million, will consist of a central seven-storey building with apartments and suites and independent luxury residences – chalets.

It will have a reception lobby, a restaurant, a bottega store, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a gym and a wellness center.
