Phase 3 includes reopening of airports and ports, malls, indoor areas at restaurants and cafes, open-air theatres and open-air cinemas, sports championships without spectators, kindergartens and nurseries, children’s clubs, outdoor children’s playgrounds and summer schools.
On Saturday, June 13, Cyprus will allow casinos, dance schools, gyms and theme parks to re-start operations. However, businesses will need to adjust to the new reality, as the ministry of health clarifies that on the basis of the current epidemiological data, the limit of 10 persons for gatherings continues to be in place.
As of 24 June and for the next two weeks, provided that protocols are upheld regards to the ratio of one person per “x” square metres in any given space, indoor gatherings will be allowed for up to 50 people and up to 100 people in outdoor spaces.
In a recent statement, Health Minister Constantinos Ioannou informed the public that theatres and indoor cinemas will re-open early August. Graduation ceremonies, wedding receptions, christenings, festivals and concerts will be allowed from September 1st.
Music & dancing venues, nightclubs and discos are not yet allowed to re-open and the discussion of when to re-open is still ongoing.
