Emblematic projects for Akamas Park get green light

Last Friday could be described as a landmark day for two emblematic projects related to Akamas. They are projects aiming to improve the road network and establish visitors’ service points, through which the planning of the Agriculture Ministry for the Akamas National Forest Park is being implemented.

On the one hand, the projects aim to decongest the pressure on the area’s sensitive ecosystems due to traffic and, on the other hand, to improve the experience and safety of visitors.

Both projects are co-funded by the EU Political Cohesion Program THALEIA 2021-2021.

More specifically, the first project of the road network is aiming to direct visitors to specific routes through which they will approach points of interest and will refrain from moving on illegal and dangerous roads.
