Retail trade volumes rose by 3% over the year earlier in October 2015, down from 4.6% in September, according to the latest figures form the Statistical Service Cystat.
Sales were driven by sales of ‘electrical goods and furniture’ (probably dominated by the former), which leapt by 15.1% year on year.
The value of retail trade in October fell by 1.8% year on year, compared with a drop of 0.5% in September.
For the first ten months of the year retail sales volumes rose on average by 3% year on year, while the values dropped by 1.1% owing to deflation.
The figures exclude sales of motorvehicles.
