Tourist arrivals in January dropped by 3.8%, compared to the corresponding month in 2013.
According to the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus, on the basis of the results of the Passengers Survey, arrivals of tourists reached 40.675 in January 2014 compared to 42.286 in January 2013, recording a decrease of 3.8%. A decrease of 14.6% was recorded in tourist arrivals from the United Kingdom (13.063 in January 2014 compared to 15.291 in January 2013) and 20.0% decrease from Greece (6.421 compared to 8.030 last year). On the other hand, an increase of 23.1% was recorded in tourist arrivals from Russia (from 3.930 in January 2013 to 4.838 in January 2014).
