A permanent 8% reduction on the basic tariffs of electricity has been announced by the Cyprus Energy Regulator CERA.
According to the announcement, the reduction will apply for consumers who pay their bills monthly from the end of February 2014 and for consumers who pay every two months from March 1. CERA said the reduction may be re-examined and adjusted in the future depending on the operational costs of the Electricity of Cyprus (EAC) and the wider economic climate. “The temporary reduction of 8% announced last year due to the economic crisis is now permanent.”
