Dherynia municipality has been awarded as the Green Town of Cyprus for the initiatives it has taken for the environment, it announced on Sunday.
The award was given by the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education in recognition of the municipality’s efforts to recycle and reuse.
It also promotes composting for homes in the area.
The municipality was also recognised for its Green Spot, which handles mass and agricultural waste.
The award will officially be given at a ceremony later at the Presidential Palace.
