Deposits and loans decrease in July

In July 2022, total deposits reached €51.2 billion and total loans €28.6 billion, recording a net decrease, compared to June. This is what data on Monetary and Financial Institutions' deposits and loans show, included in the August 2022 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics, published on Friday by the Central Bank of Cyprus.

Total deposits in July 2022 recorded a net decrease of €183.9 million, compared with a net increase of €352.5 million in June 2022. The net decrease represents only transactions and does not include the changes resulting from reclassifications, exchange rates and other adjustments.

The annual growth rate stood at 1.3%, compared with 1.7% in June 2022.

Total loans in July 2022 recorded a net decrease of €162.7 million, compared with a net increase of €109.9 million in June 2022. The annual growth rate stood at 1.9%, compared with 2.9% in June 2022.
