Cyprus has signed updated air transport cooperation memoranda with Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The memoranda which were signed on December 10 and 15, 2015 respectively are considered to constitute an important step towards further liberalising airport transport in the context of the new open skies policy approved by the Cabinet which aims to improve Cyprus` connectivity with other countries, a Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works press release says.
It is added that in this context the two memoranda include increased 5th freedom rights.
