Cyprus' total deposits increased by €266.3 million in April 2014

The Central Bank of Cyprus has released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of April 2014, which show an increase in deposits.

The Central Bank of Cyprus has released the MFIs deposits and loans statistics for the reference month of April 2014, which are included in the May 2014 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics. The data for the reference month of December 2013 have been revised since most of the audited financial statements by the MFIs are now available. The data for the following months will be revised accordingly in future editions.

Total deposits in April 2014 increased by €266.3 million (in terms of monthly transactions), as compared with a decline of €247.2 million in March 2014. The outstanding amount of deposits (before reclassifications, exchange rate and other adjustments) increased by €208 million in April 2014 and reached €46.4 billion.

Total loans in April 2014 decreased by €164.3 million (in terms of monthly transactions), as compared with a decrease of €356.4 million in March 2014. The outstanding amount of loans (before reclassifications, exchange rate and other adjustments) decreased by €683.5 million in April 2014 and reached €61.4 billion.
