The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will be holding its next annual meeting in Cyprus.
Both the EBRD and Cyprus Finance Minister Harris Georgiades confirmed the news that the island has been chosen for the important 2017 meeting via Twitter.
Georgiades also noted the event would provide an excellent opportunity for Cyprus to showcase investment opportunities.
The date and exact location of the meeting have yet to be announced.
EBRD is a shareholder in the Bank of Cyprus and Hellenic Bank.
According to its website, the EBRD provides project financing for banks, industries and businesses, both new ventures and investments in existing companies. It also offers business advisory services.
