The meeting was held at the CNA offices in Nicosia and involved a discussion on issues related to the maritime sector and the continuation of cooperation between the news agency and the CSC. Kazakos said the meeting was part of a series of regular contacts initiated over the past month “with selected partners,” emphasising that the CSC has been working with the CNA for more than 30 years. He added that they briefed Finicarides on current issues affecting Cypriot shipping and the industry more broadly.

Kazakos concluded “We hope and look forward to the continuation of this cooperation to provide correct, accurate, and professional information on current shipping issues, both at the state, regional, and international level through CNA.”

Finicarides, in turn, congratulated Kazakos and Iosifides on their appointments, assuring them that cooperation with CNA would continue “for the promotion of this very important sector.” He stressed that it remains at the disposal of the shipping industry, describing it as a key sector for Cyprus due to its credibility, as well as its contribution to the economy through income and investment.

What is more, Iosifides said he was “committed to continuing the work achieved alongside Kazakos”. “Our goal is for our shipping industry to remain innovative, to grow, to develop, and to always be proud of our own Cypriot shipping, which contributes so much to the country’s economy, both economically and socially,” he concluded.
