Greek interest in Cyprus is establishing great prospects for a substantial increase in the presence of Greek students, in both public and private universities, to obtain both a first degree and postgraduate degrees.
Cypriot Universities, which operate based on Cypriot legislation and are equally as recognized as the Greek Universities, offer many advantages to Greek students. The excellent quality of education offered in both public and private universities, classes taught in both English and Greek, and the familiar language and culture are key attractions.
Participating in the mission was the University of Cyprus, Frederick University, the European University, the University of Nicosia, the Neapolis University and the UCLan University. During the visit, it was also highlighted that all universities in Cyprus participate in research programmes and the object of studies are linked to the labour market, with premises offering fully-equipped laboratories, modern facilities and a host of teaching staff. Cypriot universities also offer special tuition fees forcertain students, determined by their income criteria and their families, including housing, food and other facilities.
The initiative promoting studies in Cyprus was by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Energy and Tourism in cooperation with the Cyprus Trade Center in Athens and the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The outlook for Greek students in terms of attendance at Cyprus’ Universities appears promising and efforts will continue to inform those interested in other counties and areas of Greece.
