Cyprus Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis this week led a delegation on a visit to Dubai and Abu Dhabi with the purpose of assessing the tourism potential in these markets and their general region.
According to an official announcement, during the trip, the minister engaged in meetings with high-ranking representatives from local tourism organisations and airlines. “The objective of these contacts is to explore the tourism prospects of this specific geographic market, to identify the current issues and challenges that concern this market, and to strengthen the cooperative relationships with local tourism partners, with the ultimate goal of increasing flows from the region,” the deputy ministry said in a statement.
Alongside these meetings, the Deputy Minister of Tourism has also agreed to provide interviews to foreign media outlets, showcasing Cyprus’ rich tourism product as well as all the positive developments concerning the island in terms of infrastructure, among other aspects. “The United Arab Emirates market, as well as the broader Middle East market, is a highly important market for our country, with strong prospects for development, which is emphasised in every meeting by the Deputy Minister of Tourism,” the announcement concluded.
