Cyprus-Egypt to sign bilateral cooperation agreements

Cyprus and Egypt are set to sign a series of bilateral agreements to enhance their cooperation during an upcoming visit Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades will pay to Cairo.

President Anastasiades will meet Egyptian President Adly Mansour in Cairo. The meeting will be followed by talks between delegations from the two sides. President Anastasiades will also meet Egyptian President Hazem El-Bablawi. A bilateral agreement will be signed in the presence of President Anastasiades and Prime Minister El-Bablawi on the Development of Cross-Median Line Hydrocarbon Resources. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics and the Children’s Cancer Hospital of Egypt will also be signed, as will agreements for cooperation in the provision of Services, and on Research and Education in the field of Medical and Biomedical Sciences.

The President, according to an official press release, will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides, Energy, Commerce and Industry Minister George Lakkotrypis, Acting Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Tasos Tzionis and Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President, Nicos Christodoulides.
