The first ever casino resort in Cyprus has been given the green light by lawmakers in Nicosia.
Parliament voted by 29 votes to 22 to approve the law on Thursday.
The law will regulate the establishment, operation, supervision and control of a first so-called ‘super casino’.
Government officials in Nicosia say thetarget is to make a casino "the best of its kind in Europe and one of the best in the world”.
