The agreement was signed at the Foreign Ministry, by Cyprus’ Health Minister Filippos Patsalis and Slovakia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák, in the presence of Cypriot Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides.
“This agreement opens new horizons for the cooperation of Cyprus and Slovakia,” Patsalis said in statements after the signing ceremony.
The Minister added that the aim is to establish a framework for cooperation in health matters, as well as to exchange information between the competent Ministries of the two countries.
Patsalis said moreover that the agreement provides, among others, for cooperation in the provision of medical care and the training of health personnel, in health promotion and disease prevention, as well as in epidemiological control.
It extends moreover to health-related legislation, medicines policy, medical science and health care reform.
The Cypriot Minister of Health noted finally that the agreements foresee the exchange of information among experts, establishing contact between health organizations and the participation at international health forums.
In his statements, Kasoulides said the agreement between the two countries shows their multifaceted cooperation in several fields.
