Cyprus and Palestine sign Energy MoU

Cyprus and Palestine have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore opportunities for cooperation in energy matters, particularly with regard to electricity and renewable energy.

The MoU was signed by Energy Minister Lakkotrypis and his visiting Palestinian counterpart Dr Omar Kittaneg on Tuesday December 3, during a meeting of Cypriot and Palestine delegations in Nicosia. It provides for the establishment of a joint committee, which will set out the framework for conducting dialogue between the two sides on energy-related issues.

It affords the holding of meetings, exchange of information and staff and the realisation of joint training initiatives.

The memorandum covers the exploration of opportunities for cooperation in the field of energy, notably in the sectors of electricity and renewable energy sources (RES).
