Cyprus Airways Board to put company back on track

New Chairman of the Cyprus Airways Board of Directors, Tonis Antoniou, has given assurances to the staff of the company that the Board will make every effort to put the company back on track.

In a message to the Cyprus Airways staff, Antoniou expresses the belief that initiatives undertaken by the Board of Directors would soon pave the way for the smooth implementation of the agreement between the Government and the trade unions and the implementation of important provisions included in the Restructuring Plan.

Antoniou also points out that Cyprus Airways constitutes a «national capital, a vital necessity for our country and based on the clear mandate I have received from President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiades we will do our utmost so that the company returns to stability." “This company must stand quickly on its own feet and become financially independent”, he stresses. Antoniou calls on the CA staff to demonstrate a constructive spirit to overcome soon the difficulties it is facing. “Cyprus Airways needs to regain soon its prestige, strengthen its name and reputation in the market”, he concludes.
