Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) has taken an initiative with the aim of reducing airport taxes imposed by Hermes, the company managing the operations of Larnaca and Pafos airports, CTO Director General Marios Hannides said recently.
In statements to the press, on Thursday, Hannides said that by next month the CTO will prepare proposals for the reduction of airport taxes, which they will discuss with Hermes and the Ministry of Communications and Works.
Airport taxes charged by Hermes are very high compared to other European countries and this is evident from statistical data, Hannides noted.
