The plan also aims to reduce costs while providing citizens and businesses with a friendlier environment. It will also support small businesses with information and communication technologies and promote e-commerce and the full computerization of hospitals and health centres.
It also provides for the full computerization of the education sector, the development of fibre optic network covering up the houses with speeds much higher of 100Mbps, the computerization of Municipalities of Cyprus, the increase in the percentage of connections (subscribers) with speeds of more than 30Mbps and mass training of digital illiterate population.
As it is noted, 75% of the total cost of the Action Plan will come from EU funds.
The Action Plan, to be promoted between 2015-2017, is part of the wider objective of reactivating and restructuring the economy and creating new jobs.
