Apps designed to enhance visitors’ experiences in Limassol

Four students from the Technological University (TEPAK) have designed digital apps to enhance the experience of visitors to Limassol’s Pattichion Museum, the Historical Archives, the Heritage Museum and the zoo.

The apps combined entertainment with access to knowledge and information, the university said.

At the Pattichion visitors and students can access interactive tools on mobiles or tablets that takes them through the exhibits. This was created by student Athena Christodoulou.

The second digital application was created by Vasso Constantine, is mainly aimed at people with hearing disabilities, as it use an international sign language app for tours through the exhibits at the Heritage Museum.

Francesca Sella created an interactive app to combine written text at the historical archives with three-dimensional images that go along with them.

At the zoo, Kyriakos Ioannou created an app for phones and tablets that significantly enhances educational aspects for the visitor by providing access to websites with information for each animal separately, with an optional quiz. It also provides practical information about the zoo such as opening hours, ticket prices and events.
