€835 million in tourism revenue in the first half of 2022

Tourism revenue reached €835.7 million in the first half of 2022, showing a large increase compared to the corresponding period of 2021, while in relation to the first half of 2019, the record year for Cypriot tourism, there is a decrease of 16.7%.

In particular, based on the results of the Traveler Survey conducted by the Statistical Service, tourism revenues in June 2022 reached €292.7 million, which is more than double (115.5%) compared to June 2021, when the revenues were limited to €135.8 million.

For the period January – June 2022, tourism revenues are estimated at €835.7 million compared to €258.8 million in the corresponding period of 2021, as well as just €122.0 million in the period January – June 2020, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

In June 2021, incoming tourists to our country reached 372,324.
