The Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) predicts a 25% increase in Russian tourists, with 800,000 expected in 2014.
After the CTO held networking meetings in Russia, it announced yesterday that Russians are expected to continue choosing Cyprus as a holiday destination in 2014.
It said the fact that two big Russian travel agents decided to promote more travel packages for Cyprus, while a third would add the island to its choice of destinations were encouraging. “Reckoning the aforementioned positive and significant developments, the CTO estimates arrivals will reach up to 800,000,” the CTO said, noting the crucial part played by the recent agreement of Cyprus and Russia on the liberalisation of flights.
