€363m on 100 development projects

The development engine in Cyprus seems to have been put into motion as the Department of Public Works has launched a total of 87 projects worth a total of € 330.57 million from 2015 until today.

Meanwhile another 13 projects worth €32.4 million are to be proclaimed by the end of the current year raising the amount to be given to public works to €362.9 million.

According to data from the Ministry of Transport, some 51 projects worth €114.5 million were not included in those announced by the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades. Specifically, from 2015 onwards, 34 projects of €38.47 million were completed.

Amongst the projects implemented are the bituminous coatings works on the main road network in the Nicosia District for which an amount of €3.5 million was spent.

A total of €1.6 million was spent for the construction of Ward 3 in the Central Prison, while another €200,000 was spent on turning the government housing into a Warden School, and another €300,000 on improvement projects on Nissi Avenue.
