1.1 million Laiki Bank accounts moved to BoC

The Bank of Cyprus finally takes over the accounts of customers from the Laiki bank.

Over 1.1 million accounts were transferred to their computer system over the past week in June 2014, meaning that segregation of 'ex-Laiki customers' and Bank of Cyprus customers in branches will now cease.

According to the operations manager, ex-Laiki account holders can now use both the Automatic Teller Machines ATMs, and the 1bank online system.

Laiki, or 'Popular' bank was founded in 1901 as the Popular Savings Bank and now officially ceases to exist.
