Founded in 1967, the aim of the Association is to be the voice of the medical profession in healthcare issues at all levels.

The main activities include:

• Professional representation in industrial relations, and ethical issues.
• CMA represents the profession in healthcare policy formulation and implementation.
• Representation in national legislative development.
• Continuing Professional Development (CPD) national programme.
• Negotiations with health insurance companies and labour organizations.
